Durante la novena sesión ordinaria del Consejo Intermunicipal de Seguridad Pública Región IX, el presidente de Huixquilucan, Enrique Vargas del Villar condenó el ataque a elementos de la Fiscalía General de Justicia y de la Secretaría de Seguridad del Estado de México y reiteró todo el apoyo de su gobierno al Gobernador.
El Edil de Huixquilucan señaló, que se deben redoblar esfuerzos y el trabajo en conjunto para que acciones de este tipo no vuelvan suceder. «Condenamos enérgicamente estos actos cobardes, fueron cobardes en emboscar a elementos de la Fiscalía y de la Secretaría de Seguridad».
Durante la sesión, se analizaron los resultados en materia de seguridad, así como los retos que se tienen para los próximos meses en los municipios de Jilotzingo, Xonacatlán, Isidro Fabela, Naucalpan y Huixquilucan, que conforman la región IX.
De igual forma, se realizó el proceso de elección para ocupar la presidencia del Consejo Intermunicipal de Seguridad Pública, ya que el Edil de Huixquilucan, Enrique Vargas del Villar, concluyó su gestión; siendo la alcaldesa de Jilotzingo, Evelín Mayen González, electa para esta importante encomienda.
Al respecto, Vargas del Villar, refirió que durante su encargo al frente del Consejo Intermunicipal de Seguridad Pública, se tuvieron resultados positivos y enfatizó que se debe seguir invirtiendo en seguridad, ya que es la exigencia número uno de la ciudadanía, por lo que reiteró el llamado para que se regresen los recursos del Fortaseg.
Así mismo agradeció, a las fuerzas municipales, estatales y federales, por el trabajo realizado para proteger a la ciudadanía.
